In order to keep our recoverable costs down (and therefore less expense to you) we require that you make a request for your Personal Credit File, and have it delivered to our office.
This is simply done by phone, fax or online to Veda Advantage, an organisation that keeps a credit file on Australians.
You can either request a free copy of your Personal Credit File (which in our experience can take up to three weeks to be received) or pay AU$27.00 for a next-day service. You can use Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Bankcard, or Diners Club card to request it online, or by phoning 1300 762 207. You can also fax or mail your request to them. Whichever way you choose, we would like you to ask them to fax it to 1300 727 131. If it interests you, let us know and we will forward you a copy after it is received at our office. We do not process any Purchaser Applications until this has been received.
What to do if you are applying to FGH to buy a home as a couple? If you have been together for more than five years just the Primary Applicant's file will be acceptable, unless the other person has had borrowings or defaults in their own name during that time. Although we are not nearly as stringent as a bank, at Fair Go Homes we do have to consider credit-worthiness if we are going to lend you tens of thousands of dollars! :)
